The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) is a private graduate research institute in Moscow, Russia.

Designed by Herzog & de Meuron Architects, the building is home to five Institutes of modern science and forms an important part of the research and education area of Skolkovo.

BEMO was responsible for the engineering and supply of the whole roof package of approximately 45,000 m2.

A very special focus was set on the thermal requirements given by the particularities of the Russian winter with possible high snow-loads and extreme cold periods.

BEMO delivered the entire roof-package consisting of decking-sheets, thermal insulation and the thermal-bridge-free halter system. The standing-seam products were produced on site and formed the water-tight-surface, which, later on was covered with aluminum sinusoidal panels 42-160 in RAL 9003 as a decorative finish. Gutters, walkways and the fall arrest system completed the BEMO full package supply.

The project is a perfect example of BEMO’s abilities to support their clients throughout the whole project development – from engineering to supply chain management through to Quality Control Assistance on site.

We call this – The 3 Columns of Success.
