The Nautiland in Würzburg has got a new roof and facade cladding. The new building was already decided in 2016. On March 2, 2018, the foundation stone was laid for the new leisure pool on Nigglweg in Zellerau. A year earlier, the 40-year-old Nautiland, which was above all in need of renovation, was closed and finally demolished.

As an expert in building envelope planning, BEMO provided support for this major project in which a completely new adventure pool was created. This created an attractive bathing landscape inside and also an adventure bath outside that makes an impression – thanks to a particularly elaborate and innovative outside facade from BEMO.

Anything but mainstream: a different exterior facade

The main entrance is already a highlight. The “boomerang look” fits perfectly into the cityscape on the edge of the bastion wall. The roof and the outer facade flow into each other. For the unique look, the roof was realized with penetration free BEMO standing seam profiles. The roof of the Nautiland was finally given the finishing touches thanks to its special surface and coating (BEMO-FLON), which is absolutely insensitive to external influences.

The innovative BEMO-BOND INVISIO cladding made of invisible mounted aluminum composite panels was chosen for the outer facade, which was also provided with the high-quality, gold-colored BEMO-FLON coating. The greatest challenge of the project was the facade composite panels in large formats of approx. 2 x 4 m with vertical bevel cuts on the facade. In addition, a substructure free of thermal bridges was implemented. The ceiling soffits in the entrance area were also made with concealed aluminum composite panels.

Interesting “fun fact”: A year earlier, the ice rink in the immediate vicinity was renovated using the same materials and surfaces.
