The facade of a building serves more than just a protective function – it conveys much more: design, quality, emotion, and, of course, the corporate identity of a company are reflected in the metal facade. Additionally, there are technical requirements such as wind resistance, optimized thermal insulation, and moisture protection.

With the unique variety of materials, finishes, colors, shapes, and panels offered by BEMO’s metal products, you can create metal facades exactly as you envision them. BEMO’s substructure systems are suitable for any surface, compensate for tolerances, and meet the latest technical and building physics requirements for metal facade systems in a unique way.

Sustainable metal façade:

Aesthetics meets ecology and durability

Sustainability is an essential component of modern architecture and the BEMO metal façade offers an ideal opportunity to combine ecological and aesthetic requirements. BEMO favours innovative solutions that are not only functional but also environmentally friendly. By using 100% recyclable materials such as aluminium, BEMO contributes to reducing waste and conserving resources. These materials are not only durable, but also corrosion-resistant, which significantly extends their lifespan and minimises the need for frequent renovations.

An outstanding feature of the BEMO metal façade is its energy efficiency. The ability to realise metal façades with thermal bridge-free substructures improves the thermal efficiency of buildings and reduces energy consumption. These façade systems provide an effective barrier against the effects of the weather and help to optimise heating and cooling costs.

BEMO takes a holistic approach to sustainability with its metal façade by using European sourced materials that are manufactured with low CO₂ emissions.

The art of shaping metal

Design and structure of the BEMO metal façade

Metal – especially aluminium – is used as a building envelope for all types of buildings. From company headquarters and museums to hotels and private homes. This is because aluminium is more versatile than almost any other material. Aluminium is lightweight yet unbreakable, corrosion-resistant, recyclable and can be adapted to any shape.

BEMO façade systems are usually designed as a ventilated façade. This is a tried-and-tested system which, thanks to its structure, is ideal in terms of building physics, structurally safe, visually flexible and can be customised to meet almost any requirements. The rear ventilation level of the VCW system ensures that any moisture is removed, preventing damage to the building caused by damp.

The fulfilment of the latest fire protection requirements and maximum safety in terms of moisture protection are also guaranteed with VCW facades. The anchoring base of the VCW system (concrete, masonry, wood, etc.) can vary. We offer suitable, thermal bridge-free substructure systems for all requirements, because a façade is only as good as the system behind it.

FAQ

What are the advantages of a BEMO facade?
BEMO facades offer numerous benefits: They allow for custom designs, a wide range of colors, and versatile system solutions. The high formability enables unique architectural designs. The ventilated façade system (VHF) ensures excellent thermal regulation, while the materials used are exceptionally durable and require minimal maintenance.
How sustainable are BEMO facades?
BEMO facades are made from secondary aluminum with over 75% post-consumer recycled content, making them an environmentally friendly choice. They have an exceptionally long lifespan, resist weathering, breaking, and corrosion, and can be fully recycled at the end of their lifecycle. The materials are sourced from European production, reducing the environmental impact through shorter transportation distances.
Do BEMO facades rust?
No, aluminum does not rust as it naturally forms an oxide layer that protects it from corrosion. Other materials used in BEMO facades are also highly resistant to corrosion, ensuring long-term durability.
Does an aluminum facade cause overheating in summer or heat loss in winter?
No, thanks to the ventilated façade system (VCW), BEMO facades regulate temperature effectively. In summer, they prevent overheating by allowing heat to dissipate. In winter, they enhance thermal insulation, reducing heat loss and improving energy efficiency.
Are BEMO facades fire-resistant?
BEMO facades are made from non-combustible or fire-resistant materials and meet strict fire safety regulations. Different fire protection classes can be achieved depending on the selected system.
How is a BEMO facade constructed?
BEMO facades are based on the ventilated façade system (VCW). This construction consists of a supporting structure, an insulation layer, and a cladding layer. The ventilated cavity creates continuous airflow, which helps regulate building temperature and prevents moisture accumulation.
Can I match my facade to my roof?
Yes, BEMO offers seamless design solutions for both facades and roofs. Our systems allow for a harmonized appearance with consistent materials and colors, creating a visually striking and cohesive building envelope.
